You can still book your first test at any test centre. But DVSA advises you only book where you actually intend to go, because moving it later is now limited.
Once your test is booked, you can only change it to one of the 3 centres nearest to where it's booked โ or back to your original centre.
You can change an existing booking a maximum of 2 times. Changing the date and centre at the same time counts as a single change.
Because a booked test can now only move to its 3 nearest centres โ and only twice โ the centre you first book from matters more than ever. If you're chasing an earlier cancellation, start from a centre whose 3 nearest neighbours also have good availability, not one that boxes you in.
