Book Driving Test.UK is a static website. Optional Google Analytics runs only if you choose “Allow analytics”; rejecting it does not limit the site’s booking information, cancellation alerts or other features. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal data. This page explains what leaves your device and when.

What we store on your device

Analytics choice — analytics_consent stores whether you allowed or rejected optional analytics and when you made that choice. The previous cookie_choice notice value is ignored.
Alert settings — if you enable alerts, alert_centres stores the centre selected in this browser. It is not sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics cookies — set only after you allow analytics. They help count visits and understand whether people find the pages and alert service useful. We do not use them for ads or cross-site advertising.

Google Analytics 4	Only after you select “Allow analytics”	Page views, page titles and paths, active engagement time, clicks on “Get alerts”, WhatsApp, phone and email links, successful alert subscriptions, and alert setup outcomes such as unsupported browsers, denied notification permission, browser setup errors or alert-service errors. We also measure page loading speed, responsiveness and layout stability (LCP, INP and CLS), the position of service links (such as the header or footer), the contact channel (WhatsApp, phone or email), and video playback actions such as automatic or manual starts, progress, sound choices and playback errors with recognized technical error codes. Page URLs exclude query strings and fragments. Validated campaign codes (source, medium and campaign name) may be sent separately to measure our promotional links. Alert setup events do not include your selected test centre, subscription endpoints or raw error messages. Search-box entries, contact message contents, phone numbers and email addresses are not sent to Google Analytics, and advertising signals are disabled. Google receives standard browser/device information and uses the request IP for basic service and approximate location; Google says it discards raw IP addresses rather than logging or storing them.
OpenStreetMap	On pages with a map	Standard map-tile requests (your IP, as with any image). Route lines are drawn locally in your browser.
Google Fonts	Every page	A font-file request (your IP + browser), to load the Archivo typeface.
YouTube (privacy-enhanced)	When a page with a video embed loads; the overview may start muted when visible	We use youtube-nocookie.com. Loading the player shares basic technical information with YouTube, including your IP and browser information. Playback, including muted autoplay, shares additional playback data. You can pause, turn sound on, or watch on YouTube. Privacy-enhanced mode limits how embedded views influence personalization; it does not mean no data is shared. Our optional GA4 playback events still require your separate analytics consent.

Analytics choice

Our analytics provider is Google, through Google Analytics 4. With your permission we use its optional cookies to understand which pages and videos are useful, how long people engage with them, and how the alert and booking links are used. We have disabled advertising signals and advertising personalisation. The Google Analytics row above explains the data shared with Google. Event-level analytics details are retained for up to 14 months; standard aggregated reports can be available for longer.

You can use every site feature if you reject analytics. To change your choice later, use the control below. If you withdraw consent, the site stops sending analytics events and removes Google Analytics cookies that it can identify in your browser.

Free slot alerts — your subscription

If you turn on alerts, your browser creates a push subscription (an anonymous endpoint token). We store it with your chosen centre(s) so we can send a notification when a cancellation appears. It contains no name, email or licence details.

Stop or delete it any time: turning off notifications for this site in your browser settings stops alerts being delivered. To remove the stored subscription itself, unsubscribe from within the site (turn alerts off there), which tells our backend to delete it — or message us on WhatsApp and we’ll wipe it manually.

Booking & licence details

We never ask for your GOV.UK password, and you always book on the official GOV.UK service. If you use our WhatsApp “book for me” service, any details you share there are handled by WhatsApp and only used to book your test.
